This group has just gone down hill. you cannot ever get your week and always have to stay at substandard older locations. Then when u arrive and go to say Arco it is empty and or only people who are NON owners are occupying the premises. They NEVER give u an upgrade even though they said during sale they will ALWAYS HONOR, most especially if you upgrade membership. TOTAL LIES, trapped in a foreign country with a bunch of liars not my idea of a good time. AVOID AVOID. I have tried to book and go online and can book all day long for less... Read more

I was a member since 2007. recently I was talked into paying upwards of 11k to upgrade to points. I got home and called interval to see if what they said was true .. I would be able to trade into higher standard resorts.. well not true I am out 11k for almost exactly what I already had. it is a scam. I want them to know that they should be ashamed. I was a good customer I always paid my maintenance fees on time I brought guests.. I tipped well at the resorts and I will never recommend them again. Read more

I purchased a 2 Bedroom, 2 weeks approx 15 years ago. The last time I went there, the quality of the resort has deteriorated and I refused to stay in the room allotted. I had to pay $800 extra to stay in the main hotel area, which is all tile and very clean. The added wings carpets in the hallways were filthy. The next contact I had with them, was a voice message saying I had not reserved my 2 weeks and therefore I lost them. I was so angry that I stopped paying my maintenance fees. I am now being "handled" by Monterey Financial who is charged... Read more

This is a horrible, greedy, lying company. Do not buy a timeshare from them. It's cheaper to rent a week. They are not loyal to their paying timeshare owners. You will never be able to book at villa del arco only at the villa del palmar. You can book at a cheaper rate thru travel websites. The maintenance fee is outrageous (up to $1,000.00)and they always make you pay an additional upgrade fee. ($400.00). We get sick when calling the reservation office. We decided to use Interval World for exchanges out of universal vacation club resorts. That... Read more

As an owner we paid our maintenance fees over 45 days ago and the resort is still unable to get their records correct to make a reservation. Don't buy from this club. Go elsewhere! We wish we never bought into this club and wasted good money. We have spent thousands and still have not vacationed. Just a nightmare. I have tried to give back the resort after paid in full and they won't take it back. Is it not worth anything after purchase seems not. I have been on the phone with the resort 15 times over the last 45 plus days and the same story.... Read more

They will lie to you and tell you anything you want to hear. Watch out for Gareth. We were promised an every year timeshare, only to find out it was every other year. Big ripoff. Beware!! Don't get sucked into their trap. Add comment

On June 28th, I foolishly bought a UVC membership and gave a $1000.00 down payment . I went to the hotel and did my research about UVC frauds and complaints and tried to cancel the next day. I went to the UVC to tell them I had other payments and priorities etc.. They told me that I could not get my money back when the paper said that under Mexican law I had 5 days. They said I was misreading it and I was not going to get my money back regardless that it was the deal of my life that they could wait for me on the rest of the down payment money... Read more

On March 29, 1989, I became involved in a timeshare nightmare that won’t go away. I purchased a timeshare club membership for a one bedroom fixed week during Springbreak in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico at the Villa Del Mar resort, Universal Vacation Club, indicated as owned by South Pacific Travel Ltd. I was also required to pay a yearly membership with Interval International in order to bank unused weeks or exchange weeks. I was naïve and an anticipated 20 minute presentation extended into a 4 hour high pressure sale. I was told of all the... Read more

On October 2, 2012, we two couples, attended a time share presentation with sales representative Valerie Knickle of The Villa Group, Universal Vacation Club, Villa Preferred Access, Beach Resort & Spa, Cabo San Lucas. An offer was made of two (2) studio units at the Villa del Arcos Resort. This offer was only made if we acted on their offer at that time. We accepted the offer and each couple paid a deposit of $1577.50. The remaining balance was to be paid over the next 13 months. Per the contract, we purchased two (2) studios for the price of... A year ago, I fool heartedly went the Villa del Palmar in Nuevo Vallarta as most, for a promise for a free trip that would normally cost about $100. Jimmy Munoz was the *** man! He was slicker than soft butter. I had brain cancer related cognitive issues and he managed to get me to put down a deposit of $2000 stating that there was someone else waiting to buy the unit. ..the pressure tactics used are like mafia men interogating a cop! Every 15 minutes another person comes into the room! They must get special training to do this work. Read more
